When there is something that lights you up on the inside, you follow it. Teaching children yoga is that for me. I have been working with children of all ages for 13 years in various settings and have been teaching yoga to kids for over a decade. Yoga looks a different with little humans, there is a lot of play, imagination, music, imitation, games, discussion and activities. There are moments of high intensity and movement and moments of quiet, stillness and reflection, just like there are in every day life.
Educating children on the breath, mindful movement, and social emotional skills impacts their lives off and on the mat. Yoga improves a child's focus, reduces anxiety, protects and maintains mental health and resilience, as well as enhances physical and academic performance.
